My son will be 2 1/2 when we go to WDW in October & I wanted to have him go and do the Pirate League makeover but he is too young, so I was wondering if there is anything else along those lines or something else special that I could get done for him?

Hi, Elizabeth!  If pirates are his thing, I can't recommend highly enough the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage.  This event takes place in the evening, and leaves from the Contemporary Resort.  You will be given a time to arrive, which is based on the start time of the fireworks on the night of your voyage.  You are treated to a fabulous feast of snacks and beverages when you arrive at the Contemporary, and some of your favorite pirates (typically Captain Hook and Mr. Smee) are available for photos and autographs.  When the party is over, the fun of your voyage begins!  You head out to a boat that takes you to your front row seat for the Electric Water Parade, and then as your pirate pal Patch (the host for your evening's festivities) regales you with songs and stories, you head out for the perfect seat to see the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.  The night ends as you head back to port to meet a special guest on the dock (this has been Peter Pan, however keep in mind that characters are subject to change).

If this might be too late of an evening for your little pirate, you might consider a pirate package from the Disney florist.  www.disneyflorist.com You'll find a few pirate gifts to delight children of all ages.

To do something special for a child this age, you might also book a character meal.  With the various meals available, he can meet Pooh and friends; Mickey and company; or some of the characters from Playhouse Disney favorites.

    Have a great vacation!
