Hi! My son and his girlfriend would love to spend spring break at Disney World. They’d like to stay at a Disney hotel on the transportation line and go to all the parks. Any tips for creating a magical yet economical trip?

    Hi Denise,
Welcome to planDisney! What a wonderful mother you are, helping your son and his girlfriend plan a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Mother Gothel might not agree, but she showed Rapunzel and the world she didn't know best after all. Let's dive into some tips and tricks for a magical vacation during The 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Your son's smart to consider a Disney Resorts Collection hotel for his upcoming stay. The benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel include complimentary transportation to the theme parks, 30-minutes early entry at all four theme parks every day, and immersive theming and amenities that allow you to stay in the Disney bubble throughout your vacation. The Disney Resorts Collection is divided into three budget categories: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. I recommend Disney's Art of Animation Resort or Disney's Pop Century Resort, both value resorts, for their budget-friendly cost, colorful theming, and access to the Disney Skyliner for transportation to Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

Many people choose to spend spring break at The Most Magical Place on Earth. If your son and his girlfriend are unable to find availability at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, Denise, I'd also consider lodging at a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel. All of these hotels offer transportation to the theme parks and many offer vacation packages.

When deciding which tickets to purchase, it is most economical to stick with a base ticket that does not include the Park Hopper option or Disney Genie+ service option. Genie+ can also be purchased day-of for single park days, which I recommend if they are planning to spend a full day in the parks and experience as many attractions as possible.

Two other ways to save money in the parks are entering the parks with a Disney MagicMobile pass as opposed to purchasing a MagicBand and asking Disney PhotoPass Photographers to take pictures with your son's phone as opposed to purchasing Memory Maker.

In terms of food, quick-service dining options and eating around the world at the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival food booths are deliciously affordable options. Make sure your son downloads the My Disney Experience mobile app where he can view menu options and take advantage of Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering

When dropping hints for a souvenEAR, I highly recommend a pair of Minnie ears. Mother Denise knows best, planDisney can help with the rest.

    Choose magic,
    Jennifer
