My son is a full time wheelchair user and is just shy of being tall enough for the 40” rides. My daughter wants to be able to go on those rides though. When I am with them without another adult how do I wait in the stand-by line if it is not ADA accessible

    Hi there, Carlee!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! You are only a few weeks away from visiting Disneyland Resort! How exciting!

My children and I often visit Disneyland Resort without another adult with us. I know how tricky it is to accommodate the interests and abilities of multiple kids by yourself! First, I suggest pre-registering with the Disneyland Disability Access Service (DAS), a program designed to assist Guests who have difficulty waiting in the conventional standby queues due to a disability. Eligible Guests can pre-register for DAS Advance via a live video chat with a Cast Member. DAS Advance selections must be made between 2 and 30 days before the park visit. If you are visiting multiple days, just wait to set up the chat until all of your park days fall within the 2-to-30-day period.

Before setting up your DAS Advance chat, make sure that each person in your party has both a valid park admission ticket and a theme park reservation. The registered Guest utilizing DAS also needs to be present at the time of the DAS Advance selection redemption. More information on the process and where to access the chat can be found on the Planning with Disability Access Service (DAS) page.

The queue process varies depending on the attraction. Guests utilizing a wheelchair will either wait in the standard queue or receive a return time to use at select attractions comparable to the current standby wait. Since your son won't ride all of the attractions, just check in with a cast member at the front of each line and they can direct you to the correct process for that ride. Keep in mind that children under 7 years old must be accompanied by a person aged 14 years or older to board an attraction.

Disney California Adventure Park will be celebrating the Lunar New Year during your visit! Mulan's New Year Procession, food honoring delicious Asian cuisine, and kid-friendly crafts are just some of the experiences that you may want to explore.

Carlee, I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to contact us again if you have more questions!
