My son and his friends plan to visit Disney on their own by end of June or early July 2014. One is 18 and the rest 3 is 17. Can they check in resort by themselves? Our family is a Disney vacation member. Thanks!

    Hi Noelle,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I called and spoke with a very helpful cast member at Disney Vacation Club Member Services.  He did some checking, and determined that since your son is 18 years old, he can check into the room.  I would suggest that you call Disney Vacation Club Member Services and have them note this on your reservation - that your 18-year-old son will be checking in with three 17-year-old guests - just so that it is on file that this has been noted.  You can call Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800.

I have also read some accounts that the 17-year-olds should get a letter from their parent or guardian stating that it is okay for them to be traveling with your 18-year-old son.  Although the cast member I spoke to at Disney Vacation Club Member Services did not mention this, I think that it might be something that would be wise to do, just in case.  You can always double check if this should be done when you call Disney Vacation Club Member Services to have this travel arrangement noted on the reservation.

I wish your son and his friends a wonderful vacation!
