Hello, My son has some food allergies and I was wondering if table service locations generally have dairy- free butter available. Thank you in advance Lauryn

    Hi there, Lauryn!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question! Disney dining is always a part of my family's recipe for Disney magic, so I'm happy to whip up an answer for you!

I just spoke to a friendly Cast Member about your specific inquiry, and she shared that while all Walt Disney World Resort dining locations make an effort to accommodate food allergies and sensitivities, each restaurant individually determines the types of cooking fats and oils that will best serve its menu. For the most accurate information on available butter accommodations and substitutions, you will need to present your request to each restaurant individually.

I also checked with a few panelist pals faced with food allergies and sensitivities in their travel parties who shared their experiences of Cast Members going above and beyond at Walt Disney World Resort table service restaurants to ensure everyone at the table was well-informed and felt safe with the accommodations available. Additionally, if you were hoping for a bit more specific information regarding available options before your arrival, I suggest reaching out to a Special Diets Cast Member by email at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com (no sooner than 14 days before your vacation) with your inquiry.

While you're here, I wanted to remind you that Guests of Walt Disney World Resort are welcome to bring outside food and beverages into the theme parks as long as they aren’t in glass containers or require Cast Members to keep items cold or warm them up per theme park guidelines. Allergy-friendly parties often utilize this policy to ensure everyone is well-fed and safe, while I typically bring my own snacks as a budget-friendly option to deter rumblies in my tumbly during Walt Disney World Resort vacations.

I hope this was helpful, Lauryn, and that you have a wonderful vacation! Don't hesitate to stop back by with any additional questions that arise. We're happy to help!
