My son is finally tall enough to ride Rise of the Resistance, my husband is taking him because I’m pregnant (both using lightning lane single pass). I would love to see his reaction to the storm troopers. Can I go through the line without a pass and exit?

Welcome to planDisney, Sarah! Sounds like your crew is ready for some serious Star Wars magic! This attraction will have even the casual fans geeking out, and the true Jedi will be vibing in lightspeed from start to finish. I can feel the FORCE rising for your son’s big adventure on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. It’s genuinely a galactic experience!

Sarah, the stormtroopers are part of the pre-show experience within the attraction. The first part of the experience actually places you inside a Resistance transport ship where the stormtroopers are stationed, which helps set the stage for the thrilling adventure that follows. There are plenty of surprises along the way, and while I won’t spoil them for you, trust me, the stormtroopers are just the beginning of what makes this attraction so immersive and fun.

While you may not be able to go through the Lightning Lane without a pass (the force is strong with that one!), there is some good news: You could join the galactic mission by walking through the standby line, and at the end, you’ll be able to exit before boarding the ride. You won’t be able to get all the way to the ride vehicle, but you’ll get to enjoy the amazing, out-of-this-world theming and see all the stormtroopers in action. It’s definitely a fun experience, and you’ll get to see the look on your son’s face when he meets them. No need for a Jedi mind trick to get that reaction!

It might be worth grabbing that extra Lightning Lane to stay together for this Jedi-worthy experience! You could also try explaining your situation to the Cast Member at the attraction to see if they'd allow you to join, but keep in mind that with Lightning Lanes, it's ultimately up to the discretion of the Cast Member, and technically, all guests using that Lightning Lane should have one.

May the Force be with you as you prepare for this out-of-this-galaxy adventure! If you have more questions or need any tips for navigating the galaxy, don't hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help you make your journey through the parks as smooth as a speeder bike ride. See you in the stars!
