My son and his family are staying with us at Bolder Ridge. With their MagicBands+ they will be linked to my account for this vacation. When they want to come again without us, how do we unlink their Bands from my account and to their account

    Hi George, welcome to planDisney!

Multigenerational visits to Walt Disney World Resort are my favorite way to experience Disney magic. Highlights from a recent stay at Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge include watching the Electrical Water Pageant in pajamas from our room and capturing images of "Grumpy Grandpa" with his namesake dwarf at Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. You and your family have so much magic ahead of you!

MagicBands are a convenient method of entry that allows you to tap into magic at theme park entry, at Lightning Lane entrances, with Disney PhotoPass photographers, and more. Your family's MagicBand+ designs will also come alive during nighttime spectaculars and can be used to charge things to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel room, as desired.

MagicBands are linked to individuals' My Disney Experience accounts or account profiles. Once linked, they are nontransferable, so getting the answer to your thoughtful question today will help prevent future Stitch-uations.

For your November trip, it sounds like you are managing the My Disney Experience account profiles for your son and his family. Confirm this by taking a look at your Family & Friends List. If you see the words "Plans managed by me" next to anyone's name, that means you are in charge of managing all of their plans and vacation entitlements (including their MagicBand+) because they do not have their own My Disney Experience accounts.

Should your son and/or anyone in his family decide to create their own My Disney Experience accounts at any time in the future, George, follow these steps to merge the account profile housed in your account with their separate account:

    1. Click "Update" next to their name on your Family & Friends List.
    2. Click "Share Planning with [person's first name.]"
    3. Enter the email address associated with that person's My Disney Experience account and click "Continue."

Once each person accepts the invitation to connect, all of the plans and vacation entitlements housed in your account (including their MagicBand+) will automagically transfer to their new account. You will remain connected as Family & Friends, which means you can still view and make plans for each other on future magical adventures.

Children under the age of 13 cannot have their own My Disney Experience accounts. Cast Member assistance is required if you wish for another adult to manage a My Disney Experience profile in your account. That just means your son may need to call the My Disney Experience, MagicBand, MagicBand+ number at some point in the future.

I hope this information helps bring your long-range Disney planning into focus, George. Please return to planDisney with any other trip-planning questions.
