My 15 yo son and I will be doing our first cruise in November. I will book our flights separately from the cruise, but still want to use Magic Express to / from airport. What time do we NEED to be in Orlando in order to make it onto bus without rushing?

    Hey there, Robin!

Great to hear that you'll be cruising with Captain Mickey in November of 2015. That is a special time to go on a voyage, since the holiday spirit is heavily celebrated onboard. You and your son will definitely have an epic vacation together.

If you are flying in on the same day of embarkation, I would suggest arriving early that same morning. The MCO to Port Canaveral motor coaches from Disney Cruise Line, will usually start picking up guests at the MCO airport a little before 10am. Schedules do change from time to time, and you'll be advised by DCL with specific travel instructions (which include ground transportation schedules). If you are picking a flight arrival time into MCO, you should be fine with arriving anytime in the morning, ideally around 8 or 8:30 am or so. You will need to factor in some time (30 minutes to an hour) to get off the plane and make your way down to the Disney Magical Express welcome center, where you will board the DCL motor coach.. It will be another 45 minutes to an hour to get from MCO to Port Canaveral (depending on traffic). Planning on this early schedule on embarkation morning allows you a lot wiggle time, and also gets you onboard sooner than later. Remember that the final boarding time is 4pm, and you definitely don't want an afternoon flight arrival time.

I hope this helps you in your planning, Robin. If you need additional information, please do come back and log in another question. We're always happy to help.

    Wishing you a magical voyage!
