Me and my son are going to disney world in may. Do they have a id at the hotel in case my son gets lost and they know were to get him back.

    Hi Jeff:

I've been traveling to Disney World with my 5 year old and 3 year old since they were infants. I'm not sure how old your son is, nor exactly what you mean by "id at the hotel," but here are some tips to help you and your son in the off chance you get separated. It's a great idea to have a set central meeting place in the parks. For park meeting locations, my family usually picks a centralized landmark easily identifiable from a distance. At Magic Kingdom, our meeting place is behind Cinderella's Castle (the far side of the park entrance). I would avoid the bustling Main Street area. Space Mountain is also a well-known landmark easily spotted from afar, but it is not as centrally located. At Epcot, our family meeting place is behind the iconic Spaceship Earth (the far side of the main park entrance). Depending on how location savvy you and your son may be, you can choose more out-of-the-way meet-up locations, such as the rose garden in the Magic Kingdom or the uncrowded Odyssey Center area at Epcot.

As a backup plan, carry your cell phone with you at all times, and teach your son your cell phone number. If he's too young to memorize it, consider putting the cell number, your name, and family relationship on a piece of paper in his pocket. Every member of your party should also carry a map of the park, which is available at the park gate entrances. Disney World Cast Members are specially trained, so let your son know to find the nearest cast member in case he gets lost and provide the Cast Member with your name and phone number.  This information will come in handy to help Cast Members reunite a lost child with their party.

    Enjoy your vacation.
