My son is 16 and going to Disney World for the first time with younger cousins. What can he look forward to doing - rides, etc. that are age appropriate for him?

    Sara:

Your son is going to be old enough, and hopefully tall enough, to enjoy all of the headline attractions at every park.  Here are my must-dos:

Magic Kingdom:  Space Mountain has just been refurbished with interactive games you can play while you wait in line.  Ask for the first seat in the car for a more incredible ride!  Other favorites at MK are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain (if you ride in the first car of THIS attraction, plan on getting wet!), Buzz Lightyear and the Haunted Mansion.

Epcot:  Soarin' is my family's favorite and hopefully will be enjoyed by both your son and his cousins.  TestTrack will take him on a fun spin--if he's the only one in the group tall enough, I recommend the faster single-rider line.  Mission: SPACE also tops the list as does Sum of All Thrills, a simulator ride he can create himself.

Animal Kingdom:  Expedition Everest should be his first stop, and if he's an animal lover, he needs to check out the Kilimanjaro Safaris.  Primeval Whirl's jerky turns and Dinosaur's bumpy ride are not for everyone, but most teens ride them again and again.

Disney's Hollywood Studios:  Tower of Terror provides laughs and screams all at the same time while he'll be singing and screaming at the same time on  Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.  The Great Movie Ride and Lights, Motors, Actions! will both be good choices.

Best of all, with younger cousins he'll have an "excuse" to ride some of the kiddie rides, that quite frankly, are still fun for adults: Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Barnstormer, Snow White, the Teacups, Indy Speedway, Toy Story Midway Mania, Epcot's Nemo and Animal Kingdom's It's Tough to Be a Bug!

    Wishing him a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
