I want to take my son to disney for his 9th birthday and this will be the first time either of us have been. We will stay at AK cause he loves animals but thats as far as I have got. Any suggestions? I also read about a pirate cruise, what is this??

Hi!!  how fun!!  My boys were 7 and 8 last year when they departed on their first Pirate adventure.  They were so excited.  I called 407-WDW-Dine to make that reservations.  It cost us between 31 and 32 dollars each, can't remember exactly.  The boys had departed from the Grand Floridian but from what the boys said, they stopped at a few different ports within the marina.  They were going treasure hunting!!  We of course were 'too grown up' for such an adventure.  They had plenty of goodies when they returned along with quite full tummies.  If your looking for a fabulous place to eat with your son, I would HIGHLY recommend T-Rex located in Downtown Disney.  Your son can dig for dinosaur bones and there are life sized dinosaurs all through the restaurant.  If you have ever been to a Rainforest Cafe, it is a similar concept.  I hope you have a fabulous trip!!!  Heather M.
