My son is diagnosed with attachment disorder and is under going tests for ADHD, so can find busy environments /queuing difficult and can become overstimulated leading to melt downs. Do I need to bring proof of diagnosis for DAS and other services?

    Hello Louise,
I'm so glad that you've brought such an important question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort as all us Moms and Dads here on the Panel wish to make your dear sons visit as magical as possible.
I know exactly how vital it can be to meet the needs of not only the young person with a non-apparent disability such as an attachment disorder or ADHD, but also those of their families.
Therefore I'm so happy to share that currently Disney does not require any proof of diagnosis or doctors note, but rather takes each Guest at their word on application for a Disability Access Service Card (DAS).
Guests may apply for a Disability Access Service Card from any Disney Theme Park Guest Relations and once provided, DAS cards are good for 14 consecutive days.
In addition I also thought you might find this Services for Guests with Autism & Cognitive Disabilities link to be an extra useful planning resource.
If I can help sprinkle any extra pixie dust onto your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort please pop do back to ask me another question.
    Have a great Disney day.
