Our son is developmentally disabled and has a heart condition and we have always been able to avoid the long lines with a disability pass. We understand that policies have changed, what should we do when we visit in June? P.S. We are DVC members.

    Hi Christine,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

Since your son is unable to wait in long lines due to his disability, Disney will still accommodate your son's needs.  The procedures for and name of the card has changed.  You will now get what is called a Disability Access Service (DAS) Card.  In order to obtain the card, you will need to go to Guest Relations at any of the Disney theme parks, where a cast member can help you to get the card.  Once you have the card, you will be able to get a return time to come back to an attraction based on the current wait time of the attraction.  Your son will need to be with you when you get the card at Guest Relations; however, he will not need to be with you when you are getting return times for attractions with the card.  The Disney Parks Blog has a post with frequently asked questions about the change from the Guest Assistance Card to the Disability Access Service Card.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Christine.  Please do come back and let us know if you have any further questions.
