Hi again, Michael. I'm so glad you've stopped back by
planDisney with more questions. Like I said before, I'm here to help!
Michael, I think you'll be happy to know that while
Florida resident tickets are meant to be used only for Florida residents, this rule only applies to those Guests ages 18 and older. So what that means is as long as you can show
proof of Florida residency you can buy the Florida resident discount tickets for you and your children.
Here's what you'll need to have on hand to show proof of residency:
- Valid Florida driver’s license (must have a Florida address)
- Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address)
- Valid Florida-based military ID
There are a few other ways to verify your residency, Michael, but those are the easiest and most common ways that are accepted. Before you actually enter the
Walt Disney World Theme Parks with your Florida Resident Tickets, you will need to stop by any Guest Relations windows to have your tickets activated. This is when they will check your proof of residency. You will need to be at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks with your children for activation since you are the Florida resident. You can also do this ahead of time and bypass stopping at Guest relations. When you go to check out with the Florida resident tickets, you'll see a section that says "Your Florida Resident Information" and you can fill out all of the information that it asks and be verified from that. Either way is just fine.
Michael, throughout the year different options for Florida resident tickets are offered. Right now I'm seeing options for up to 4-day tickets, but this could change at any time. You can explore the
Florida Resident Special Offers page of the Walt Disney World website to see what is currently being offered and then keep checking back as it gets closer to the time you'd like to purchase tickets. Some Florida resident tickets do offer the park hopper option. If that is something that interests you, you'll want to be sure you purchase a ticket that includes the park hopper benefit. Without that being included, you'll be required to stick to one park per day.
I hope this helps point you in the right direction with your tickets. If you have more questions about this or anything else, come back and
ask me. I'm happy to help!
Have a nice week.
Jackie H.
