My son is 9 & my daughter is 11. We are staying off resort but want to choose one very special place to eat supper one night. What restaurant would be the most fun for them? Where are the best places for lunch? Any buffets for lunch?

First, Walt Disney World is filled with many fun restaurants that provide uniquely themed experiences for a special night: 50's Prime Time Cafe, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Hoop-Dee-Doo-Musical-Revue,  and Be Our Guest.  If you were hoping for more fine dining experiences, please let us know. There are plenty of those to choose from as well.

As for lunch, are you looking for a counter service restaurant? Our favorites are Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, Pizzafari at Disney's Animal Kingdom, ABC Commissary at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Columbia Harbour House at the Magic Kingdom. By the way, Be Our Guest is another option at the Magic Kingdom since it is counter service for lunch and table service for dinner.

There are a handful of lunch buffets: Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Biergarten, Crystal Palace, Hollywood & Vine, & Tusker House

I would encourage you to make dining reservations beforehand, too. They can be made 180 days in advance.  Otherwise, have a wonderful trip!
