My son has Cystic Fibrosis and cannot stand on some of the attraction lines because of his exposure to the sun will cause elevated sweat levels. Somebody told me to go to Guest Relations. What will they do there?

    Hi there, William!

I have a friend with two sons with Cystic Fibrosis, and they are huge fans of a Walt Disney World vacation. The first thing they do every trip is what I'll recommend to you - visit Guest Relations as soon as you enter the park on your first day. There, you can get the Disability Access Service Card for your son.

Especially for people who may have a disability that isn't immediately obvious, this card can really help you to enjoy your time at the theme parks. The card works similarly to the FastPass+ system. When you go to an attraction, you present the card to the cast member. They will assign you a return time that reflects the wait time at the attraction. You skip waiting in the line, and you can wait with your son somewhere cool and shaded (I recommend the many gift shops - even when you aren't making a purchase, they always have something interesting to see).

This not only helps to keep him out of the sun, but he won't have to stand out in the Florida heat for an extended period of time. Even though most of the attraction queues are either shaded or at least partially contained indoors, it can still get quite hot waiting in line.

I hope this helps your son to have the most magical vacation you've all ever had!
