Hello! My son and I are going on a cruise in a month (yay!), and during the cruise it will be his birthday. What fun things can I plan for him and where should I start? Thank you for all your help!

    Hello Autumn,

How exciting that you have a birthday cruise planned with your son!  As you can guess, I cannot imagine a better way to celebrate his special day.  My boys and I generally sail during the summer months, which also happen to be aligned with their birthdays.  Here are some thoughts on how to celebrate on board Disney Cruise Line.  First, I recommend indulging in a specialty-ordered celebration cake for your pirate.  You can order from a variety of options and sizes, all of which are delicious!  The cake can be delivered to your stateroom or to your rotational dining venue on the night of your choosing.  Be sure to remind your server that it is your son's birthday and the dining crew will certainly make him feel special.  You can also order a Birthday Wishes stateroom decoration package from the same Gifts and Amenities site used to order the cake.  This package comes with a brightly colored Mickey beach towel, a foldable storage cube, a dry erase memo/door magnet and adorable stateroom decorations that will surely delight your son.  Finally, I recommend ensuring that you add your special celebration to your reservation, and, in my experience, the crew will go out of their way to make him feel special throughout your voyage.

    Have a magical birthday sailing!
