Hi. My son and I are coming back to WDW and would love to spend a little time playing in the sand. We're staying at Pop Cent but I didnt know if it was possible to go to one of the beach resorts to do this or if we would have to drive to the nearest beach

    Hi Ashley!

I have been many times to Walt Disney World and have stayed at a lot of different resorts inside and outside the property. I've been able to go to the Polynesian Resort beach on various occasions without a problem. While your son will be able to play in the sand, there is no swimming allowed at any of the Walt Disney World lake beach areas.

Another option for playing in the sand would be going to one of the Disney Water Parks! There is plenty of sand at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon plus many waves to splash around in. Driving to the beach would probably cost more than admission to the water parks! Check out the Water Parks Fun and More ticket option to see if this is a good deal for you!

Thank you so much for asking the Moms Panel, Ashley! I hope you have a fantastic day!
