My son is Coeliac and I do not see any information on menus about gluten free options. How can I tell if he will have a choice of dining without contacting each reservation I have made? Thanks. K

Greetings, Kathleen! Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel for help with your vacation planning! I’ve traveled with my best friends, one of whom is Gluten Free and Dairy Free, so I have first hand experience with those allergy menus and such.

Walt Disney World Resort is one of the best vacation destinations for someone with food allergies, as they take each allergy seriously! From special allergy menus at EACH restaurant and eatery, to the ability to speak with a chef at any restaurant (quick service or table service) Disney wants you to feel satisfied with your meal and safe! While you will find pre-arranged allergy menus in each restaurant and can work with your server on your meal, you can also ask to speak to a special diets-trained chef, who will gladly visit with you to make sure that the meal is prepared to your specifications. Quick-service restaurants can cater to corn, gluten, dairy, fish, shellfish and other allergies fairly quickly, but please allow about 10-15 minutes extra for your meals (both table service and counter service) for your meal to be readied safely and professionally. My friends and I waited for her meal about about this length of time each time we dined, but after the first meal or two we learned to arrive early, choose our meals and have a great conversation about what we wanted to do in the parks next!

If you have other dietary concerns, or would like more information about what is on the allergy menus, I would contact Special Diets by emailing at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com or call (407) WDW-DINE. The Cast Members and dietary trained chefs deal with so many allergies, but if you would like to bring in your own snacks to the park, you may do so! Just inform the Security line about your food allergies during bag check. Please return if you have any more concerns about your upcoming vacation. I hope it’s magical! ~ Lindsey P.
