My son is celebrating his 10th Birthday while we are in Disney. I made reservations for a Birthday lunch in Norway in Epcot, his favorite place. Is there any more that I can do to make his birthday special?

    Hi Jennifer:

Congratulations on your son's upcoming birthday. Here are some ideas to make the visit extra special:
    • Since you've got a special birthday lunch planned, now that your son will be double digits, maybe try a "grown up" restaurant, like California Grill (featuring delicious California Fusion cooking and spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom and the Wishes fireworks show) or Coral Reef (a wonderful and fun experience for kids (and adults) where you can dine in front of stunning underwater views).
    • Remember to check in at City Hall at the Magic Kingdom, or at guest relations at other parks, and pick up a birthday button. Many Cast Members will go out of their way to wish your son a Happy Birthday or greet him with a kind gesture to make the visit more memorable.
    • If you are staying on property, let the Cast Members know at check-in that it's your son's birthday. It's possible the front desk may be able to help arrange some Disney magic for your son.
    • You also may consider contacting the Dream Makers at Disney Floral and Gifts online or at (407) WDW-GIFT or (407) 939-4438. They can help create a personalized in-room celebration featuring your son's favorite Disney characters.
    • Take him for a ride on Characters in Flight (a basketed tethered balloon ride that takes you 400-feet above Downtown Disney for 360-degree spectacular views as far as the eye can see).
    • Consider giving your son a pirate transformation at The Pirates League.
    • A simple treat, like buying a your son a balloon or bag of popcorn on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, will likely bring him a huge smile.

    Enjoy this special vacation.
