My son is 17 and can't buy his own ticket, can I buy a ticket in his name since I'm not going to be with him?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Kris!

Thanks for stopping by with a fantastic Disneyland Resort vacation planning question. You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! Oh boy... it sounds like your son will be visiting The Happiest Place on Earth in just a short couple of weeks. Kris, while I'm sorry to hear you won't be joining your son during his exciting adventure, I'd be happy to help you prepare him for a magical and memorable trip to the Disneyland Resort!

I understand you're hoping to purchase theme park tickets for your son, but won't be with him when he plans to use them. No worries! You can easily purchase tickets for your son on the Disneyland Resort website. First, you'll need to decide between a One Park Per Day ticket and a Park Hopper ticket. (A Park Hopper ticket will enable your son to "hop" between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park within the same day during eligible park hopping hours!) Next, you'll select the date(s) and theme park (or starting park, for Park Hopper tickets) your son would like to visit on each ticketed day. The theme park selection you make here will serve as your son's theme park reservation once the ticket purchase is confirmed.

Kris, then you'll have the chance to add Disney Genie+ service to your son's ticket. With this service, your son will be able to make Lightning Lane entry selections which allow him to bypass the standby queues for many attractions. During the checkout process, you'll be prompted to select who will use the ticket(s), Kris. Enter your son's first and last name during this step, then proceed with payment to complete the ticket purchase. Your son's theme park admission will be provided in the form of eTickets and emailed to the address you provide during the checkout process. You can choose whether the eTickets are delivered to your personal account or your son's email address.

Once your son's eTickets have been received via email, he'll be able to scan the eTicket barcode at the theme park main entrance for admission to the park. Alternatively, you may link them to your son's Disney account so that he may access them via the mobile app. This can be done either on the web-based Disneyland Resort website or via the Disneyland Resort mobile app. (My friend and fellow panelist, Al, provided another Guest with detailed instructions on how to link tickets using the mobile app earlier this year!) If he hasn't already, be sure your son has the Disneyland Resort mobile app downloaded before he heads to the theme parks. He'll be able to show his tickets in the mobile app at the turnstiles in order to enter the park!

Kris, I hope you've found this information helpful. I hope your son has an incredible time at The Happiest Place on Earth! If you or your son have any additional planning questions, feel free to stop back by planDisney again anytime. We're all ears!

    See ya real soon,

    Lauren
