Hi there, Jerry! Welcome to planDisney.
First and foremost, I'm sending some pixie dust your way for your son's quick recovery! In these situations, I always recommend speaking directly with your personal physician to review your park plans, which it sounds like you've already done! On the
Disneyland side, as long as your son is fully ambulatory and can board and disembark attractions on his own, it's up to your discretion to determine which attractions to ride that day. If you are unsure of the boarding process on any particular attraction, look out for a friendly Cast Member and they will be happy to help you and explain the process!
We all know you can clock a lot of walking miles during a Disneyland day. If your son is feeling weary, there are
wheelchairs available for rent outside of the park, just to the east of the Disneyland Main Entrance Gate. These are first come, first serve so if you are visiting for multiple days and you find yourself needing one later in the day, it may be something you want to try to secure at park opening the following day. Rentals typically open about an hour ahead of the parks.
If he's looking to just get off his feet for a quick break, head on over to sit and watch the new
Tale of the Lion King at the Fantasyland Theater! It's an imaginative retelling of Simba's story complete with the music we all know and love! One of my favorite spots for a respite, even if it's just from that California sun, is
The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Abe Lincoln himself tells the tale of generations past and his vision of the future! You'll also get to see some pretty cool Disneyland memorabilia in the lobby along with a short film
Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years!
I hope this was helpful, Jerry! If you need any more help in your magic making, you know where to find us here at
planDisney!
Keep wishing on those stars!
Tara
