Hi, there!
Or rather, Bright Suns, Cindy! I'm so glad you stopped by. It sounds like you have an epic adventure about to begin at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. It's sure to be out-of-this-world!
My young Padawan customized a handbuilt lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop a few years ago and from start to end, it was a Jedi-worthy experience. I'll never forget how proud he was to come out of Savi's Workshop with his new lightsaber and a renewed commitment to continue the way of the Force! You ask an excellent question about your son's reservation. The experience is limited to the builder (your son) and one Guest. Additional policy states that at least one person in the party must be age 14 or older. So, that's to say, only one Guest may accompany your son and that Guest must be someone 14 or older. Space is very limited inside Savi's shop, so with that in mind as well as the Guest policy, it's unlikely that your 2-year old could join you and your son for the experience. That said, I will tell you that
Droid Depot has similar policies about builders and their Guests, but I
was able to take my toddler with me while I accompanied my son as he built his custom astromech unit there. I'm sure that was a situational experience, so it's not to say that you'll have the same luck at Savi's Workshop. My best advice is to stop by the check-in location in front of Savi's Workshop well before your son's reservation. Explain your circumstances to the Cast Member there and I bet they'll be happy to discuss your options with you!
Once your son has his custom built lightsaber, be sure to take advantage of all the force-worthy photo ops throughout Batuu. The Disney PhotoPass Photographers are experts at showcasing lightsabers in the images they take. You'll have lots of galactic photos to remind you of the adventure you had at Black Spire Outpost!
I hope this was helpful, Cindy. Please let us know if you have any other questions about the Walt Disney World Resort! We'd love to help you plan a magical visit.
