My son broke his arm, what kind of restrictions are there for riding rides at Disney.

    Hi Cassy!

I am so sorry for your son's accident. When things happen after you have planned a vacation it can be very stressful for everyone involved. Walt Disney World is a vast property with so much to see and do so it can still be very magical even with an arm in a cast.

The parks have a wide variety of Attractions and it would probably be a great idea to review them with your son before you arrive. The important thing for you to do first though is to contact your son's physician and consult with him/her about the restrictions they would like to see him have. Perhaps the thrill rides will be out of the picture this time around or anything where a grip must be used for safety reasons. Sometimes they can adjust the kind of cast or protection he will wear knowing that he is going to want to experience the attractions. It is definitely best to get their advice and instructions.

Once you know what the doctor has ordered then you can make a list of all the things that will be possible. Water rides might be out of the picture unless you wrap the arm with plastic. That is easy to do on rides like Splash Mountain but not as easy on Kali River Rapids where you can really get wet. If a cast member deems that it is not going to be safe for your son to ride with his arm then they will tell you. I think it will just depend on what kind of protective covering he has and what kind of use he has with his arm. Again, use the doctor's advice as your guide.
