Hi Amazing,
Thank you for stopping into
planDisney before your trip. King Candy, Dopey, and Frozone would have told you bald is beautiful. But you must be really excited he decided to grow some hair, and are ready to celebrate his first haircut. Well let’s cut to the chase!
Main Street USA has always had that nostalgic feel for me. Nestled between the shops and places to order food is
Harmony Barber Shop. This is classic style barbershop that has state licensed cosmetologists, so you know your boy will be getting a quality haircut. There are a couple options for haircuts, but it sounds like you will be choosing the first haircut option which includes the cutest set of Mickey ears, a lock of hair, official milestone certificate, and of course the haircut itself. Gratuity is not included and can only be cash. When it comes to
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe and customizing ears you normally have to purchase the ears from that location to have them customized. This location also customizes celebration pins, and Christmas ornaments. While I would not cut out the chance of an exception, I would not bank on this customization option for the ears that come with the haircut. If you were still looking for a customization options, there are other locations that do embroidery on ears. As long as you bring receipt for the items you purchased inside of the parks that day and they are unworn, you should be able to get customization on those hats as well as other fabric items. Stop by
Town Square Theater and speak with a cast member before you purchase anything to make sure they can accommodate your customization.
It looks like you will be visiting during one of my favorite festivals. I love the art on display and to eat. Yes that’s right edible art, all of the plates that they make at the booths throughout World Showcase are edible works of art. EPCOT's
International Festival of the Arts is usually during the month of January. While dates have not yet been announced, I would keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for updates on the dates, artists being featured, and food booths called Food Studios. Ok you got me, I really like to eat. I just can’t help it, the options are always amazing. You know how people say “wow that’s too pretty to take a bite!” Those words will never come from me, I will ruin any artful meal. But not before I take a picture to look at after it’s all gone.
I know this wasn’t the information you were looking forward to, and I hope this visit is a memorable experience for you and your son.
Have a magical stay,
Jeremy A.
