Greetings, Amanda!
Welcome aboard planDisney. As a parent of children with special needs myself, it is a pleasure to offer insights from our own Disney Cruise Line vacation experiences that I hope will help make your cruise the most magical possible.
I understand how challenging it can be to travel with young children with special dietary needs or narrow culinary preferences. Our family always brings on board with us our favorite snacks and drinks to enjoy while on board. It helps make for even smoother sailing during our cruise if we can enjoy a small snack when the regular restaurant dining hours don’t happen to align with the timing of tiny tummies.
Note that any
food brought on the cruise ship must be nonperishable and in its unopened, factory-sealed packaging. Coolers are only allowed for storing medication, baby food, or nonperishable foods for special dietary needs. Such coolers are also subject to size restrictions of up to 12” (30.5 cm) in any dimension. Staterooms do include electric drink coolers. However, note that they are not full-featured refrigerators and are not suitable for certain medical or nutritional purposes. Appliances to heat or cook food are also not allowed and will be confiscated.
Guests who may require accommodations beyond those already indicated on the Disney Cruise Line website should fill out and submit the
Request Special Services form. Additional correspondence for special needs may be done via
email or
phone.
Amanda, from another parent who has been there before, I want to reassure you that your cruise will be magical. I understand that, realistically, it may not be picture-perfect from embarkation to debarkation. Sometimes, meltdowns, messes, or medical issues happen even in the best circumstances. But I am confident that you will find that the Disney Cruise Line Cast Members will do everything in their power to make your cruise vacation the most memorable and positive experience possible.
Have a great cruise, Amanda!
