    My son is on the Autism Spectrum & has a Sensory Processing Disorder. Are there any accommodations available to him (noise and crowds can be problematic). If so, what kind of documentation would I need to bring along?

    Hi Michele,

    This is one of the best things about visiting the Walt Disney World Resorts with guests who have special needs. Disney gets it. My oldest princess has Asperger's and she truly love Disney World and we seldom have an issue touring with her.

    While we have never used the a Guest Assistance Card (GAC), you may want to visit Guest Services and ask for a one. While a physician's note is not required to obtain one, cast members will ask you about your pirate's needs so they can give you information about how to make your touring more enjoyable. This card will allow you to bypass lines or wait in a separate area. When you need to use the card, simply approach a cast member at the queue's entrance and show them the card. He or she will assist you from there. In addition, your card will be valid for your length of stay as well.

    If your pirate has any food issues, you can have this noted when making Advanced Dining Reservations. A chef could even visit your table to discuss food options even if you are enjoying a buffet. My youngest princess has an allergy and a chef always comes to help us select items which are safe for her to eat.
