Our son has autism & a motor disorder which causes him to become easily fatigued. We'll spend 2 days in Orlando this summer, and are wondering which parks require the least amount of walking. Should we do 2 days at Disney, or 1 of the 2 at another park

    Hi, Brooke!

Just based on size, you will find that Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are the smallest and have the least amount of walking.  I would suggest that you book a nice sit-down lunch where you can take a break from the sun and heat and enjoy some down time with a great meal.  You might want to try the Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom and the Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios.  Both of these locations are character-free and a much calmer atmosphere which might be more relaxing and calming.   And after a day of the Florida sun, we all need a nice break!

Plan to get to the parks early in the day when the crowds are at their lowest and the temperatures more comfortable.  Enjoy you lunch in the parks, then by mid-afternoon, you might want to head back to your resort for a break.  If you and your family are up to it, you can head back to the parks in the evening when the sun starts to set and the temperatures cooler.

Do not try to do everything, there is just too much to do!  Pick a few "must see" attractions, take plenty of water breaks, and enjoy all the magic around you in Walt Disney World.  Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
