Hi! My son and I are annual passholders but my husband and daughter are not. We are planning an upcoming trip, staying on property, and are interested in the dinning plan. Can you explain how this would work for us? Thanks!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Angela!

When you book a Magic Your Way vacation package, every guest on the reservation has to have the same package options. Because you and your son are annual passholders, it wouldn’t be the best option to book a package with tickets. But there are some options for Annual Passholders to book a reservation with the dining package.

To book a ticketless package, you would need to call Disney’s reservation line at (407) 939-5277 and request this type of package. Let them know you have AP’s and that you wish to book a room and dining plan package. A Cast Member will be able to help you make this type of reservation. Then you can add the additional tickets for your husband and daughter separately.

Another option is to purchase a Magic Your Way vacation package with a resort hotel, theme park tickets, and a dining plan, and use the credit of the tickets if you choose to upgrade your annual pass. Also, be sure to browse any special offers available to see if you can apply any of those discounts to your dates.

I recommend crunching numbers to make sure these options are the best fit for what you are looking for. Keep in mind, with your Annual Pass, you can enjoy special dining discounts that might surpass any dining plan savings. There are some handy dining plan calculators you can search online for that can help you do that math. And if your hope is to have a paid for package, you can always pre-purchase Disney gift cards to go towards your meals, so you don’t have to worry about paying for meals when you’re enjoying your magical vacation.

I hope this helps answer your question. Please don’t hesitate to stop by with any additional questions or planning advice. We hope to see ya again real soon! ~Emille
