My son has Alpha Gal which means he cannot eat things like beef and pork. We were interested in eating at Woodys roundup can you tell me if the barbecue chicken is cooked all the same thing as the beef and pork?

Hi there, Carleigh! Welcome to planDisney, and you so much for sharing your question with us. I know how important it is to feel confident about meal safety when you're visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. You're already doing exactly the right thing by reaching out ahead of time, and I'm really glad to help guide you through what to expect at Roundup Rodeo BBQ.

The very first thing I recommend is to contact the Special Diets team before your trip. You can email them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com and request a Special Diets Request Form. This form gives you the opportunity to outline your son's exact needs, and the team will then share that information with the restaurant before your arrival. It's an incredibly helpful step that ensures the chefs have as much advance notice as possible.

Once you're at the restaurant, be sure to let your server know about your son's restriction the moment you're seated. They will call a chef or a specially trained Cast Member to your table to walk through the ingredients, preparation methods, and safe options. This is especially important at Roundup Rodeo BBQ because the restaurant features family-style platters, and you'll want clear guidance on which items can be prepared separately to avoid any cross-contact with beef or pork.

One thing I've always appreciated is how carefully Disney handles allergy meals. When the dish arrives, it will be marked clearly with an allergy-safe indicator. Before your son takes a bite, just double-check that the marker is present and verify the order with your server. That little extra step always brings peace of mind.

While I can't confirm how the kitchen is preparing a specific item on a specific day, the chefs will always give you an honest and detailed explanation once you're there. They truly do everything they can to help every Guest enjoy a safe and delicious meal.

Carleigh, your son will absolutely be in good hands. With advance communication and a quick conversation with the chef, you'll be able to enjoy your meal together without worry. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us here at planDisney. We're always available and more than happy to help!

    Warm hugs,

    Ana Paula
