My son is almost 4. Is it true that he cannot go on many rides? Also, we are targeting 3rd and 4th weeks of January 2012, how about ride closures at this time? I want to pick a time when he can ride atleast age appropriate ones.

    Hi!

Actually there will be more than enough attractions for your son to enjoy. Our son's first WDW trip was at the age of 2. There was plenty to keep him busy!

Of course, it depends on the tolerances of each child. Some kids don't mind to spin (Mad Tea party teacups) or go on a boat (It's A Small World).

Walt Disney World (and especially the Magic Kingdom) was designed to be a park for the young and the young-at-heart.

Attractions and shows to definitely consider at each park -

Magic Kingdom: Monsters Inc comedy show, Buzz Lightyear, Raildroad,  Carousel of Progress, Tomorrowland Speedway, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Winnie the Pooh, Tea cups, Carousel, Dumbo, It's A Small World, Peter Pan, Riverboat, Tom Sawyer Island, Magic Carpets, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, parades and Wishes fireworks.

Animal Kingdom: Character greeting trails, Lion King show, animal exhibits and trails, Safari, Boneyard playground, TriceraTops spin, and the afternoon parade.

Epcot: The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Living with the Land boat ride, Journey into Imagination, InnoVentions, visit characters in World Showcase, Kim Possible adventure, and IllumiNations fireworks.

Hollywood Studios: Honey I shrunk the Audience playground, meet characters, most of the shows, and Fantasmic.

Our favorite time of year to visit is near the end of January due to the low crowds. Yet, some attractions are usually down for renovation. Right now, the current list for your time frame includes the closure of Dumbo, Big Thunder Mountain, Liberty Belle Riverboat, and Fantasmic.

Enjoy a wonderful visit to WDW!
