Hey there, hi there, ho there, Chris!
Thank you for stopping by with your excellent
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! It's great to hear you're planning ahead to make your son's Walt Disney World Resort vacation as seamless as possible. I'd be happy to help you prepare for a magical and memorable visit!
Chris, though I don't have specific experiences to share about navigating
dining at the Walt Disney World Resort with a pea protein allergy in particular, I've had years of experience dealing with several more common food allergies while visiting Disney Destinations. In my experience, the Walt Disney World Resort is one of the most accommodating places in the world for folks with food allergies and intolerances! The phenomenal Cast Members and chefs do everything they can to accommodate all
special dietary requests. I'm happy to inform you that Walt Disney World Resort restaurants will do their best to accommodate Guests who require meals made without certain ingredients - even those that are not considered the
most common by the Food and Drug Administration. Chris, I highly recommend you request to speak with a special diets-trained Cast Member at each restaurant, as they should be able to help guide you toward appropriate menu options for your son! You could also request ingredient lists, as these are available for the menu options at most dining locations. Another option available to you would be to reach out to the
Special Diets team via email within 14 days of your planned arrival. This dynamic team will be able to assist you in navigating the dining process with your son's specific food allergy and can provide recommendations on suitable dining locations and/or menu options!
If you'd prefer, you're welcome to bring your own food into the theme parks, Chris. If you'll be staying at a
Disney Resort hotel, you may have an in-room refrigerator to store cold items. (If not, you're welcome to request one from the front desk, pending availability.) When my son was an infant with milk and soy intolerances, we always had special grocery orders delivered to us at our Disney Resort hotels. If you choose to receive a grocery order at your Resort hotel, be sure your order details contain the primary Guest's name and arrival date, as well as the word "GUEST." It's important to note that orders received and delivered to you by Bell Services will incur a
small handling fee. Alternatively, you could meet your delivery driver at the lobby and receive your groceries personally, free of charge!
Chris, I hope you've found these recommendations helpful. I'm optimistic that you'll be pleasantly surprised by the abundance of options and accommodations available for your son's pea protein allergy during your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation! If you have any additional planning questions, feel free to stop back by
planDisney anytime. We're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Lauren
