My son was active duty military and purchased us (him, my husband, my daughter and myself) military salute tickets. My son is now deceased and we believe he would still want us to go. Are we still able to use the tickets even though he cannot be there?

First of all, Amanda, I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear son. My younger brother recently passed very unexpectedly and I know from experience that the loss you are enduring is profoundly grievous. My heart aches with yours. I am glad to hear that you all intend to move forward with your planned trip as a way to honor your son.

The Military Promotional Tickets Disney offers have specific requirements that the eligible service member be present to activate the tickets prior to use. The tragic loss that your family is facing obviously makes that impossible. In unique situations like this one, I have found that Disney is incredibly sympathetic and likely would be honored to help you celebrate your son’s memory with your loved ones. Of course, unusual circumstances like this one will require special arrangements. I recommend that you call the number for Existing Tickets and let the Cast Member you speak with know about your situation. It’s a good idea to be prepared for a lengthy hold time because pandemic-related issues have resulted in high call volumes. If you have physical vouchers or exchange certificates, it may be helpful to have those handy when you make the call.

I sincerely hope that you are able to find quick resolution, Amanda, and that you and your family enjoy a trip that is warmed by a wealth of happy memories.
