Is there somewhere my husband and I can make reservations on our anniversary for dinner where we can view the fireworks? We are traveling in May. What time would we need to be there? Thank you! This panel is so helpful!

    Laurie:

You didn't mention which park's fireworks you wanted to see or whether you'd be eating in the park so I decided to give you a few options:

    • Narcoosee's is a solid choice for several reasons: its menu of seafood dishes marks a special occasion and you don't have to score a window table to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks with its outside verandah. It's not in the park, saving a day on your ticket.
    • 'Ohana's at the Polynesian dims the lights for the MK fireworks and pipes in its music. This is one of our family's favs. If you find yourself finishing dinner before the fireworks, you'll actually get a better MK firework view about 50 yards away at the resort's beach. Just keep in mind that there are construction fences causing some obstruction on the beach this Spring.
    • La Hacienda de San Angel is my pick over Rose & Crown at Epcot for dinner with a firework view simply because it has windows that span to the ceiling of the restaurant, allowing a larger view of the park's fireworks. Its short ribs are so tender and there are other special entrees on the menu, too.

A reservation about an hour ahead of the fireworks can land you a fabulous view, but only if you're willing to arrive early (at least 30 minutes) to request a window table at the podium. And as always, there are no guarantees.

Keep in mind that Epcot's fireworks are more predictable than the Magic Kingdom's, showing nightly at 9 p.m. Since you didn't mention a specific day in May, click on the calendar for your special day and choose the Magic Kingdom.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
