Hello, Alyssa!
Thank you for reaching out to planDisney. I am happy you sent your question our way! My family also deals with food allergies, so I completely understand how important it is to find meals that are both delicious and safe while enjoying your vacation.
There are a few ways to check ingredients and allergy-friendly options around the Disneyland Resort. For starters, many quick service locations list allergy-friendly choices right in the mobile order section on the
Disneyland app, which is very handy if you are managing just one allergy. Since my family has multiple allergies, we usually use the menus as a starting point to see what might work and then head to the register at the restaurant to order in person. We always ask to talk to the Cast Member who is trained in special diets before placing our order. These Cast Members are usually wonderful about walking through ingredients and helping us find something that fits our needs.
You might enjoy a few of my family's go-to quick service spots that offer tasty allergy-friendly options. In Disney California Adventure Park, we like Flo’s V8 Cafe, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, and Smokejumpers Grill. Over in Disneyland Park, Cafe Daisy, Galactic Grill, and Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree are some of our favorites. Since allergy‑friendly meals can take a little extra time to prepare, it helps to avoid the busiest meal times, which are typically 11:30 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. - 6:30 P.M, in my experience.
For
Sweethearts' Nite, I recommend following the same approach: review the available food options ahead of time, note what might work for you, and then chat with the trained Cast Member at each dining location before ordering.
Most table service restaurants don’t share allergy‑friendly menus online, but in my experience, they almost always have them ready when you arrive. I’ve found it really helpful to look over
menus ahead of time to see which spots might be able to adjust dishes to fit your needs, and then make advance dining reservations, which are usually
available up to 60 days before your trip. When you book, you’ll be able to note any special dietary requests, and it’s always a good idea to remind your server as soon as you’re seated so they can guide you through your options.
Some of my favorite allergy‑friendly dining experiences have been at Carthay Circle Restaurant, Storytellers Cafe, and Carnation Cafe. Keep in mind that menus and ingredients are subject to change, which is why it is always best to talk with the Cast Members at each restaurant. You are also welcome to bring your own food into the parks!
Lastly, you may want to reach out to the
Special Diets team, especially if you’re managing four or more allergies. In these cases, they often provide a form you can fill out and submit ahead of time, which notifies the table service restaurants where you have reservations of your needs before you arrive.
Alyssa, I hope this information was helpful! Feel free to
contact me directly if you have other questions!
