Hi there, Justin! Welcome to the
Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney, where Membership can open up a whole new world of vacation magic for you. I'm happy to help with your question today.
My husband and I made the decision to join Disney Vacation Club quite a few years ago once we started bringing our girls to
Walt Disney World Resort annually, and I can honestly say that we've never regretted it. It's allowed us to travel to many different Disney
destinations in Deluxe-level resorts that might have ordinarily been beyond our budget, and vacation with family and friends in accommodations that feel more homey than a standard hotel room.
Good news, Justin--your DVC dreams can continue well beyond the next decade! If you do pursue the 10-year financing option for a Disney Vacation Club Membership, you will hold the deed to the real estate interest that you purchased (represented by the number of Vacation Points you selected) once the loan is paid in full.
All of the DVC properties have a deed expiration date, typically 50 years from the completion of construction.
Disney's Riviera Resort, for instance, has a January 31, 2070 deed expiration date, based on its opening in late December of 2019. So regardless of how you finance your purchase, once all financial obligations are met you are an owner until that expiration date rolls around.
I recommend spending some time exploring the
Costs of Membership section of the Disney Vacation Club website. It is a wealth of information for any prospective owner! We also used the
Discovery Portal extensively when making the decision to purchase our DVC contract--I found the tools to help estimate the right number of Vacation Points for your family's needs to be a useful guide. You can also schedule a
virtual meeting, an on-demand webinar, or an in-person tour with a helpful Disney Vacation Club Cast Member at any time!
If you decide to move forward with Membership, I'm excited to share that there are not one but TWO new Disney Vacation Club properties scheduled to open in 2024.
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort (currently slated to open this summer) are going to be a perfect wilderness hideaway, just a stone's throw from
Magic Kingdom Park. There will be a new DVC tower opening at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, as well--the Polynesian is our family's Home Resort and I can't wait to experience this new addition to our happy place!
Well, Justin, I've thrown a lot of Disney Vacation Club information at you and I hope it's been helpful! Please reach out again if you have any more questions that I can help with. Thanks for visiting planDisney!
Welcome Home,
Susan
