Hi Nancy,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for stopping by with your question. I think you are referring to
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, an interactive scavenger hunt where guests try to stop Hades from taking over Magic Kingdom Park!
This interactive game is included with admission to Magic Kingdom Park. Each mission takes roughly a half hour to complete, depending on the degree of difficulty. In order to begin, you will need to stop by the Firehouse on Main Street U.S.A. to sign up, receive your map and game cards as well as training on how to use your cards. Each day, guests are free to pick up more cards at the Firehouse, but are limited to one package of cards per day. There are also special cards available during Special Events, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
In total, there are 9 quests that must be completed in order to defeat Hades. My family will typically complete one quest per day, as they can be a little time consuming. Your progress is saved on your MagicBands, so you can pick up where you left off, whenever the time may be. At the Fire house you and your party will be given a package of spell cards. Each card casts a “spell” to help defeat the villains. Once you find the portals by listening to clues, you will need to pick a card and cast a spell in order to move on to the next portal. Be warned, the game is a lot of fun and can be quite addictive. We have had to limit my daughter as she would play as long as we let her.
I hope your family enjoys Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom as much as we do, Nancy. Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.
Stephanie
