Hi Alejandra, welcome to planDisney!
As a young child, I loved meeting characters at Walt Disney World Resort. As a teenager, I enjoyed experiencing the thrilling attractions. As a Disney adult, I'm all about the shopping! I even chose spending time at the
Emporium at Magic Kingdom Park over enjoying a DOLE Whip recently - can you imagine that?!
When it comes to finding must-have items at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, experience has taught me to live by the motto, "If you see something, buy something." I'll share a personal story to illustrate my point. Last October, my husband and I spotted a nice 50th Anniversary polo at the Emporium. We were just starting our park day and didn't want to carry a bag around so we decided to pick it up on our way out of the park that night. To our dismay, his size was sold out when we went back after the fireworks. In fact, it was sold out everywhere else we shopped that trip, including
World of Disney in Disney Springs and some of our go-to resort shopping locations like
Bayview Gifts at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Twelve months later, I'm happy to report that my husband finally purchased his beloved 50th Anniversary polo on our family vacation last month. Not every story has a similarly happy ending, though, so if the wish your heart makes is for an item you see in the parks, I highly encourage you to purchase it when you see it.
Online,
shopDisney is another great place to scout out and purchase the latest trends from the Disney parks. I fell in love with the
holiday Minnie ears Megan Trainor was wearing in The Wonderful World of Disney: Magic Holiday Celebration and immediately added them to my shopDisney wishlist. If you see something you'd like to purchase in the parks, I encourage you to see if it's available online. I recently purchased some jewelry for my mother-in-law's birthday that was cheaper on shopDisney than it was in the parks!
Thanks for bringing your shop-tastic question to planDisney today, Alejandra. Please return with any other trip-planning questions.
