someone told me that Disney said it's ok for a deceased spouse of a military member who separated after 6 years is eligible for the military salute tickets? She also said they would be accepted at the gate without id, is this correct?

Thanks so much for your question, Libby.  I hope I can help.

The Disney Armed Forces Salute - as most military members know it by - is also called a 4-day Military Promotional Ticket.  Service members that are eligible for the ticket are active and reserve duty service members, retired veterans (meaning they retired from military duty), 100% service connected disabled veterans, spouses in place of the eligible service members (so if a husband or wife is deployed, the spouse can still use the benefit), and unremarried widows of eligible service members.

As to whether or not the surviving spouse of a deceased military member can use the benefits, it depends on the eligibility of the deceased service member.  If the deceased service member would have been eligible for benefits (active or reserve duty service member, retired military veteran, or 100% service connected disabled), then the surviving spouse is entitled to the benefits as long as the spouse remains unmarried.

You would have to have your military identification card with you in order to take advantage of this benefit.  They can ask for the ID when you use the passes.
