Seasons screamings Luke, and welcome to planDisney!
With the spookiest season in full swing with the end of summer, we can definitely see how some of the most popular dates for
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party can get snapped up so quickly! We actually found ourselves in a similar situation last Halloween, and ended up deciding to spend the day finding other activities to do around Walt Disney World Resort!
Across select
Disney Resort Hotels they had activities available during the day and into the evening of Halloween and we noticed an even mix of folks of all ages dressed casually or in costume partaking in the festivities. While there's never any guarantee as to whether any activities will remain the same year after year, here's what was offered last year at Disney's Beach Club Resort to give you an idea ahead of your stay:
- Halloween Poolside Activities took place around 12:30 P.M. over by Stormalong Bay, with games and challenges based on Disney Villains. From 3:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. Mickey Tie-Dye was offered for an additional fee along the beachfront.
- There was a Crescent Lake Trick or Treat Trail also themed to the Disney Villains that started at 7:30 P.M. and was scheduled to last two hours, though we didn't notice too many folks participating towards the end. This took place at the same time as a Decorate Your Own Pumpkin activity (for an additional fee) by the Volleyball Court near the Tidal Pool.
- The folks who were dressed for the occasion had the opportunity to participate in a Costume Parade that began at the Campfire Pit (well after families had their opportunity to roast marshmallows earlier).
At other Disney Resort Hotels like Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside we experienced a very lively atmosphere with their Monster Mash Bash which included a DJ pumping out terrifying tunes during all of the festivities! By far one of the locations with the most activities tends to be Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort complete with a Halloween Beach Bash with fun competitions to take part in as well as the incredibly popular Halloween Golf Cart Extravaganza. (Don't be surprised if you encounter some difficulty getting there, as Cast Members have been known to confirm whether guests had reservations before allowing anyone to board the complimentary water transportation from Magic Kingdom Park during these busier special holiday events.)
We were actually surprised to discover that Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park even got into the spirit when we decided to speak Halloween morning there - with a DJ as well as surprise appearances by Mickey and Minnie Mouse in pirate-themed Halloween outfits of their own. However if you're also planning on hopping between Disney Resort Hotels, don't forget to check out the Disney Eats Foodie Guide to some of the spooky snacks and sips that you'll find along the way; in the meantime I hope this helps you have the Happiest Halloween this year Luke!
Here's to all the treats without the tricks!
