Greetings, Carol! From one Magic Key holder to another, welcome to planDisney! I hope you are having a fantastic year visiting the Disneyland Resort with your Magic Key pass.
Each
Magic Key pass has
specific dates that are blocked out. You are welcome to purchase a standard theme park ticket to visit a park on a blockout date, subject to reservation availability. However, at this time, Magic Key discounts do not currently apply to standard theme park tickets. You can check the
Offers & Discounts page to see if any savings opportunities may apply to you.
Depending on when your Magic Key pass expires, you can also think about upgrading to a higher pass type. This can be done as long as the pass you want to upgrade to is currently available for sale. The cost to upgrade is the difference between your current pass and the new pass type, and it isn't prorated based on when your pass expires. Therefore, this option makes the most sense if your expiration date is far in the distance, and if you'd be able to make the most of the added opportunities to visit the park. For example, I just upgraded my daughter from an
Enchant Key to a
Believe Key, so that we can visit the park on Saturdays together. We will likely be able to come more often now, so the upgrade was worth it to me. If you decide this is something you want to do, you'll want to head to a ticket booth at the Disneyland Resort to upgrade. Just keep in mind that, once sales pause for a pass, you won't be able to upgrade until sales resume or until your renewal window opens up.
If you decide you'd prefer to purchase a 1-Day ticket, you can do so
on the Disneyland website. The cost can vary depending on the day and whether you purchase a
Park Hopper ticket, add on the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, or pay for parking in advance. As a reminder, the parking benefit for your Magic Key pass does not apply on blockout dates.
There is so much to look forward to at the parks in the new year – I hope you have a few visits planned to enjoy the
Lunar New Year festivities, the
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, and the continued
70th Anniversary Celebration. I suggest following the
Disney Parks Blog to watch for announcements about other fun events to expect in 2026.
Carol, please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Wishing you many more happy visits to the Disneyland Resort,
Kriss
