I totally understand wanting to keep all of the members of your own Mickey Mouse Club together. After all, the magic of Disney is about the memories you make as a family. Let’s take a look at what options you have while on vacation this month.
Some of the most fascinating areas of Disney World are its rides’ queues and pre-shows.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror hotel lobby, the Chess Room in the
Millennium Falcon, the fortress of
Pirates of the Caribbean…the list goes on. So, even if your entire crew doesn’t want to take a spin on the attraction, they are in for a treat while in lines.
Everyone who goes through a queue has to meet the
minimum height requirement. If the child is shorter, they will have to wait outside of the attraction with an adult. This is when
Rider Switch comes in handy. Now, if everyone is tall enough, before entering the queue, ask a friendly Cast Member if the ride has a “chicken exit”/“last-minute exit” area. Hakuna Matata! Most (if not, all) do. Once you get closer to the ride vehicles’ loading areas, let another Cast Member know that some of your party will not be riding. You will be asked to exit by walking out a side door or even walking through the ride vehicle.
I also strongly recommend that if your party has to separate, consider buying
Lightning Lane Multi, Single, or Premier Pass. This purchase will give your family access to the shorter queues, which means less time apart from each other.
AN EXTRA GEM: To get my younger son more hyped up for attractions that he may be afraid to try, I watch on-ride attraction point-of-view videos with him to gauge if he would be interested. Sometimes kiddos are scared because they don’t know what to expect. And if he doesn’t want to ride? I’ll just plan accordingly. In my case, we use Rider Switch, but my husband still has a blast with our little one. Between yummy snacks and lower-intensity rides, they have so much fun during the wait!
