Hello, Zach! I'm so happy to welcome you to planDisney today!
April is a delightful time of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort and you'll be just in time for the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. With beautiful topiaries, flower displays, and delicious options at a variety of outdoor kitchens, don't miss EPCOT in full bloom!
Now, Zach, while I love chatting about festival fun, I also love helping guests understand Disney Genie+, so let's break down how to best use this service. What you read is correct.
Disney Genie+ can only be purchased on the day of your visit (not in advance). When my family and I visited a few months ago, I would purchase Disney Genie+ at 12:00 am if we were still awake or early the next morning. You can begin making your first selection at 7:00 am. Because of this, I liked to make sure I had purchased our Disney Genie+ by 6:45 am at the latest.
During busy times of the year, it is possible that Disney Genie+ could sell out for the day, so please keep that in mind. Zach, I'll encourage you to review
THIS PAGE that lists all of the attractions included with Disney Genie+ and which attraction per park is priced separately. When you begin booking attractions with your Disney Genie+ there are a few strategies that guests apply. Some like to find the attraction with the earliest return time (closest to park entry time) so that they can immediately search for another attraction to the book. My family and I always try to book our number one priority, regardless of the return time. For example, when planning a day at
Disney's Hollywood Studios,
Slinky Dog Dash is typically a priority for us. So, I'll book this first at 7:00 am, but it might have a return time of 4:00 pm because it's a popular attraction, so then I'll set an alarm on my phone for 2 hours after the park opening time to book a 2nd Lightning Lane.
I hope this helps as you're planning out your Disney days, using Disney Genie+. Take a look at
THIS PAGE which offers even more information about how to purchase and select your attractions.
I hope you'll come on back and see us here at planDisney with any additional questions. Like Jiminy Cricket singing,
"when you wish upon a star..." we love to help make dreams come true.
