I am going on a solo trip "racecation" in November. It is to honor my 60th birthday in December and a general bucketlist wish to go to Disney. Any suggestions? I do plan to schedule a Wild Africa Trek (3 hours)! Any vintage things I can enjoy?

    Hi Cynthia! Welcome to planDisney.

Oh Boy! Let's talk about Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, my absolute favorite runDisney Weekend on the race schedule. I mean, you get the fun of running throughout the theme parks and unique character meet-ups which is fantastic. Combine those with the delicious addition of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. This will bring me to my first suggestion. Included in the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon and Disney Two Course Challenge are tickets to an exclusive Post-Race Party. If you are not running those distances, you can still purchase tickets to this late-night event which will gain you access to EPCOT beginning at 5:00 PM.

I love that you are treating yourself to an Enchanting Extra like the Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I have it on my list to do in January 2024. Not only will you get to see the animals up close, but Disney PhotoPass Services are also included to capture the moment.

I have three more fun options to consider. Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour takes you on a five-hour in-depth tour of fun Disney facts, backstage locations like the "Utilidors", and lunch is included. Next, the scientist in me is recommending the Behind the Seeds tour at EPCOT. This one-hour tour will take you through greenhouses and the fish farm. If you love Living with the Land, this one is not to be missed. And finally, I am recommending you treat yourself to a performance of Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil® and Disney over at Disney Springs. I have personally seen this show three times and would not hesitate to go back. Start your evening off with appetizers and a cocktail at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' in the lounge where no reservations are required.

I wish you the best birthday "race-cation" magical trip. Remember to mark your calendar 60 days in advance to secure your reservations for Enchanting Extras and Dining. Happy Training!

    Every Mile is Magic,
    Cindy
