If I do a solo trip, are there cast members that will take my photo at character meals such as Topolino's?

    Hiya Sharon,

Welcome to planDisney! While I love visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth with my two little Mouseketeers, there is just something special about a solo trip. You get to eat all the snacks you want, ride the attractions you like, and best of all, do the trip 100% your way. It is one of the most magical ways to experience the theme parks.

Character dining is one of my favorite things at Walt Disney World. I love meeting the characters, but I'm not always the biggest fan of waiting in character meet and greet lines. With Character dining, I can still meet my favorite friends, but I also get to eat yummy meals, so it's always a win-win. In my experience, Sharon, at character dining experiences like Topolino's, there is always at least one Cast Member assigned to shadow the characters. They can help you get autographs on items, ensure all the characters have stopped by your table, and even take a picture if you need them. During my visit to Topolino's Terrace last week, the Cast Member used my smartphone to take a group photo of me and my family with Minnie Mouse! Just ask the Cast Member if they can take a picture for you, and they will make the magic happen. I suggest having your phone unlocked (if it is password protected) and the photo app open so it is easier for them to take the photo. Don't forget to look at the picture before they leave if you want another one taken.

I hope this was helpful, Sharon. Before I let you go, I can't recommend staying at a resort hotel enough as you continue to plan your solo trip. Early Magic Hours (a perk for resort hotel Guests) was my favorite time to visit the park on solo trips because it was less crowded, and I could get photos of the park without tons of Guests. I could also ride more attractions and spend less time waiting in lines. Plus, having the complimentary transportation to and from was a real plus. If you don't have set dates in mind yet, check out the Special Offers webpage to see if any deals on resort hotels fit within your timeline so you can stay onsite at a great price. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
