If I am a solo cruiser, how many points are required compared to two people cruising?

    Welcome home, Harvey,

It sounds like you are a Disney Vacation Club member like me. I'm also a huge fan of sailing with the Disney Cruise Line. The combination of vacation magic doesn't get much better than that!

If you plan to convert your Disney Vacation Points to Reservation Points for use with the Disney Collection exchange, you can research the number of points required from the Disney Collection points charts. The points charts for Disney Cruise Line voyages have two parts for each cruise type. The first section is the points per passenger for the first two passengers in a stateroom for each stateroom category and cruise date combination. Those points are based on double occupancy. That means that a solo cruiser would use two times the number of points indicated to satisfy the points requirement for that sailing. For example, if I were to cruise on the Disney Wish (a gorgeous ship!) on September 28, 2026, in a category 9D stateroom, I would need 150 points times two for a total of 300 points. Note that the "Rule of Four" applies for Disney Collection reservations, meaning reservations must be made at least four months before the end of your Use Year. A non-refundable transaction fee is also required for Disney Collection exchanges.

Tony's Tip: As a Disney Vacation Club member, there are two things I love to do on board. The first is to attend the member reception. This is a fun game show-style event near the beginning of your cruise that usually includes a complimentary drink. It's also a great way to get to know the Disney Vacation Club Guides on board your ship. That helps with the second thing I love to do: stop by the DVC Planning Desk each day of our cruise. Not only do I get the opportunity to converse with the friendly Guides, but they also give out free gifts to Disney Vacation Club members who stop by each day, one gift per member per day!

I hope you have a magical cruise, Harvey. Please let us know if you have any more questions. We're happy to help here at planDisney!
