Hi Joanne!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by to be part of our world here at planDisney!
Joanne, I have some soccer-loving sons who have dreamed of playing on the fields at the
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. In fact, my oldest joined me for a
runDisney Health & Fitness Expo ahead of a race just so he could sneak a peek at them! Unfortunately, the fields at ESPN Wide World of Sports are only available for teams and athletes training or competing in an event and are not available for daily use by resort Guests. While I know this may not be the news you were hoping to hear, I'm happy to share a few options that soccer fans may enjoy while at Walt Disney World Resort.
If you're still deciding on your resort, you might want to check out
Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. Here you'll find some large open space areas, such as the football-inspired field between buildings in the Touchdown! section of the resort. This space provides plenty of room to take a ball and practice a little footwork or some juggling. I also really like the 70's section of
Disney's Pop Century Resort where you'll find some larger-than-life foosball figures. I've seen kids enjoy playing between them and have even stopped for a fun photo opportunity myself!
Another option for soccer fans is to plan a visit to Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course where you'll find
FootGolf. This fun activity blends soccer with golf creating a unique sport. We haven't yet played this course at Disney, but it's on our to-do list for our vacation later this year! There is also a soccer store at
Disney Springs which may be worth a visit.
Pelé Soccer is a popular stop for my boys and they always seem to walk out of there with a new jersey from one of their favorite teams!
Joanne, I hope this information helps to delight the soccer fan in your life during their visit to Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
Cheers,
Kristi
