I have a 2020 SoCal Resident 3-Day Park Hopper ticket where I used the first day in Feb 2020. I have the option now to upgrade the ticket to a Magic Key. If I upgrade, what would the expiration date be? Would it behave like an unactivated Magic Key?

    Hey Wayne!
    Welcome to planDisney!
Fellow Southern California resident here! I think that we can both agree that one of the best perks is living so close to the Happiest Place on Earth! I am sorry to hear that you were not able to use all of the days on your SoCal Resident Ticket before the closures. You’ll be really excited to hear that this ticket has been extended through December 16, 2021. It does have blackout dates of November 20-27, 2021 but otherwise can be used any other day with availability and a theme park reservation.
It looks like you’re interested in becoming a Magic Key Holder. There are so many wonderful benefits plus a year of magical visits that I can definitely see why you’re hoping to do so. At this time, promotional tickets like the SoCal Resident Ticket from 2020 are not eligible to be upgraded to a Magic Key. Since you’re a Southern California Resident, I recommend you take a look at the Imagine Key which is exclusive for Southern California residents.
Well Wayne, I wish I had better news about upgrading your ticket but I hope you're really excited to use the remaining days on it.
Remember, always believe in the Magic!
