    Snorkeling Question. On Castaway you can bring your own snorkel gear, what are the guidelines for what is allowed? Do you need swim fins in the lagoon? Does it cost to rent the Castaway life vest that is required in the lagoon?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you're getting ready to set sail to paradise! Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, is one of my favorite places to visit on Earth! The crystal clear water makes for perfect views of life "under the sea" while snorkeling!

    Bringing your own snorkel gear is an excellent idea! A mask, snorkel and fins are all allowed. Fins are not required for snorkeling on the island, so if you don't want to bring your fins from home, that's okay! However, wearing a life vest is required in order to snorkel in the lagoon off Castaway Family Beach. Yellow life vests are complimentary and can be picked up by visiting Flippers and Floats or Gil's Fins and Boats once on the island. You may rent snorkel equipment at both those locations, too. Be sure to keep an eye out for hidden treasures under the water's surface! I recommend bringing an underwater camera to snap amazing pictures of your new aquatic friends.

    If you choose to snorkel in the morning, you'll work up a great appetite for Cookie's BBQ! You'll feast on delicious barbecue, fruit, side dishes and don't forget dessert! YUM! There's so much to do on Castaway Cay, so keep your Personal Navigator newsletter handy and you won't miss a thing!
