Disney Cruise Line adheres to industry standards for sanitizing gear between users, using disinfectants that help ensure the health and well-being of its Guests. I have observed this most closely when I rented gear at
Castaway Cay. I watched the process before
renting a snorkel and mask. When I returned my gear, they immersed it in a disinfectant solution and then rinsed it with water. After cleaning, the items were hung to dry.
I was completely comfortable using their gear. Just so you know, I am a cautious person. I will not drink soda out of a can without first washing it with soap and water, and I always carry at least two bottles of hand sanitizer in my purse (you never know).
My husband prefers to bring his own gear. He likes the way it fits and feels more comfortable with it. If you are concerned, you are welcome to bring your own snorkel and mask for you to use at beach destinations or on snorkeling Port Adventures.
With your cruise so close, it's also time to get ready for the online check-in and that amazing moment when you get to select your Port Arrival Time. Depending on your
Castaway Club status, you can check in starting 30 to 40 days before your cruise. For check-in, you'll need photos of your required
travel documentation, pictures of each Guest in your stateroom, and your payment method for onboard charges. While it's just a lot of prompts and uploads, I get so excited! It means it won't be long before that magical "Welcome Aboard!" greeting as your vacation begins.
